Cheesy Crispy Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 6-7 medium potatoes
  • 4-5 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 1 bowl of grated cheese (preferably cheddar)
  • A handful of finely chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes:
  • Slice the potatoes into half-moon shapes, ensuring they are neither too thick nor too thin. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
  1. Season and Mix:
  • Add the vegetable oil, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and cornstarch to the potatoes. Mix well to ensure the potatoes are evenly coated with the seasoning and cornstarch.
  1. Bake:
  • Spread the seasoned potatoes on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 25-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are crispy and golden.
  1. Cheesy Assembly:
  • Sprinkle a generous layer of grated cheese on a serving plate.
  • As soon as the potatoes are done baking, place them hot directly onto the cheese layer on the plate. This step is crucial as the heat from the potatoes will melt the cheese.
  • Top the potatoes with another generous layer of grated cheese and sprinkle with finely chopped parsley.
