Tas Kebabı Recipe

Ingredients of TAS kebabi:

  • 750g diced meat (preferably lamb)
  • 60-70g tail fat (or substitute with butter and olive oil)
  • 1 onion
  • 4-5 green long peppers
  • 1 heaped tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 3 medium-sized potatoes
  • Salt to taste

Preparation:

  1. In a pressure cooker, melt the tail fat until it browns, then add the diced meat and sauté over high heat until browned.
  2. Once the liquid evaporates, add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add chopped green peppers, sauté for a few minutes, then add tomato paste and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Pour in hot water, cover, and simmer over medium heat for half an hour until the meat is tender.
  5. Meanwhile, peel and dice the potatoes, fry them, and set aside.
  6. Once the meat is cooked, add the fried potatoes, salt to taste, check the liquid level, and adjust if needed by adding boiling water.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy your Tas Kebabı!
