Baked Smoky Potato Wedges

These Baked Smoky Potato Wedges are a crowd-pleasing side dish that combines the satisfying crunch of baked potatoes with a smoky, spicy flavor. They’re simple to prepare, making them perfect for both casual family dinners and gatherings with friends. Serve them with your favorite dips for an extra touch of deliciousness.

Ingredients:

(Makes about 4 servings)

  • 2 lbs. small russet potatoes, skin on, washed well and pat dried
  • 1 tsp sea salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 Tbsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 1/2 Tbsps avocado oil or olive oil

Optional:

  • Mashed avocado, guacamole, marinara sauce, hot sauce, homemade ranch
  • I mashed 1 ripe avocado with 1 Tablespoon fresh squeezed lime for dip

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a large baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
  2. Slice the potatoes in half lengthwise, then cut each half into wedges.
  3. Place the potato wedges in a large bowl. Add the sea salt, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, dried Italian seasoning, and oil.
  4. Toss the potatoes well to ensure they are evenly coated with the seasoning and oil.
  5. Arrange the seasoned potato wedges on the prepared baking sheet, making sure to leave space between each wedge for optimal crispiness.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender and crispy on the outside.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dips, such as mashed avocado with lime, guacamole, marinara sauce, hot sauce, or homemade ranch.
