Ingredients – Meatballs
Ground beef, 500g
Breadcrumbs, 0.75dl
Cream or milk, 1dl
Egg, 1
Veal stock, 2 tbsp
Dijon mustard, 2 tsp
Yellow onion, 1
1 to 1.5 tsp each of Salt and freshly ground pepper
Butter for frying
Ingredients – Cream Sauce
1 piece meat stock cube + 2dl hot water
Cream, 5dl
Dark soy sauce, 1.5 tsp
1-2 TBSP of blackcurrant jelly or juice from fresh lingonberries
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a bowl add the breadcrumbs and cream or milk combine them well then put aside. Chop onion finely and lightly fry in the butter. Then combine all of the meat ingredients and make roughly 20 meatballs.
2. Heat a pan with butter and fry the meatballs in medium-high heat for about 5 minutes on every side of the meatball. Take out the meatballs from the pan.
3. Add the stock water into the exact same pan and whisk up well all those lovely browned bits from the meatballs. Place the rest of the ingredients for the sauce and bring to a boil. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Add the cooked meatballs back to the sauce and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
