Şambali Dessert Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups semolina (1 packet)
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1.5 cups yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

For the Syrup:

  • 3 cups water
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Note:
1 cup measurement = 200 ml

Instructions:

Preparing the Syrup:

  1. In a saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil.
  2. After boiling, add lemon juice, then remove from heat and let it cool.

Preparing the Dessert:

  1. In a bowl, mix semolina, sugar, yogurt, lemon juice, and baking soda.
  2. Knead the mixture until it forms a dough-like consistency.
  3. Grease a square baking dish and spread the mixture evenly.
  4. Divide into slices using the back of a spoon handle, then arrange almonds on top.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake until golden brown.
  6. Once baked, pour the cooled syrup over the hot dessert.
  7. Allow the dessert to absorb the syrup completely, about 3-4 hours after cooling.
